Objective

Checkpoint Surgical wanted to create patient awareness of a surgical procedure called Targeted Muscle Reinnervation (TMR) for treating post-amputation nerve pain. While well-know to the company’s nerve surgeon customers, the procedure was less well-known to patients as a non-drug option for treating pain.

Solution

We created a patient-facing website called TMRnerve.com designed to educate potential TMR candidates about the procedure. The website also provided a mechanism for matching TMR candidates to TMR surgeons through a physician finder feature.

I managed this project from the inception and developed all page content in consultation with the company’s subject matter experts and the site’s medical director. We engaged a digital agency to build the site, manage SEO and social media.

Results

Over two years, through a combination of digital and traditional marcom tactics, TMRnerve.com has become the go-to resources for patient’s suffering from post-amputation nerve pain. The site has achieved top 10 search engine rankings, even out-ranking high-authority academic and institutional sites.
